Get involved. Join our Patient and Public Involvement Consultation Panel

In December 2025 we set up a Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) Consultation Panel (PPI-CP). The panel is responsible for co-designing, co-developing and co-delivering research activities of our Northern Ireland Multiple Sclerosis Research Hub. Members of the panel include people with MS, carers, supporters, lay public and staff who have an interest in research and lived experience of MS. The PPI-CP advises on the PPI strategy and activities needed to ensure the patient and public voice is central to ongoing and future activities of the Hub.

Examples of previous activities:

  • Provided input on logo design for the Hub
  • Provided input on ongoing research projects in the Hub,
  • Received updates on the Belfast Eye and Multiple Sclerosis (BEAMS) study
  • Provided feedback on a research proposal for a funding application
  • Informed of public events and news items e.g. All-Ireland Multiple Sclerosis Research Network (AIMS-RN) Research Symposium, ECTRIMS Patient Community day, OCTOPUS clinical trial update
  • Participated in the All-Ireland Multiple Sclerosis Research Network (AIMS-RN) Research Symposium by joining a panel discussion
  • Participated in mock interviews in preparation for grant applications

We are very grateful for everyone’s input. If you would like more information about our Patient and Public Involvement Consultation Panel, or would be interested in becoming involved, please contact us by email.
